Kareena Kapoor on Why She Named Her Son Taimur: Film maker Vivek Agnihotri has brought ‘Bengal files’ after the unprecedented success of ‘The Kashmir files’. Kareena said, ‘Saif had read a lot about Timur in his childhood. Another reason is that his neighbor’s name was Taimur. Saif loved his name. The name Taimur means’ Aryan Man is a strong man. When Saif told me about this, I also liked the name.
Actor Saif Ali also revealed the reason behind the name of the son’s name Taimur in an interview to Mumbai Mirror. He had said, ‘The name Taimur means Iron Man. It looks great to hear this name. I am familiar with the history of Taimur of the Mongol dynasty. I have not named my son after that Timur.
Saif Ali, son of Veteran actress Sharmila Tagore, further said, ‘Mongol ruler was Timur, my son’s name is Taimur. It sounds similar to hearing but both are not the same. I have named my son after a person named Taimur living in my neighborhood. I have also named my daughter after Kajin.
In a conversation with India Today in 2018, Kareena Kapoor had told that she had also considered the name of the son Faiz. Kareena had said, ‘The son was trolled on naming Taimur but many people have also supported us. The day I was going to the hospital for delivery, I had a conversation with Saif. Saif asked to name the child ‘Faiz’. He said that Bebo! This name is of a poet. I did not like the name. Then suggested the name ‘Taimur’. I have given birth to a brave child. I am proud of it.’
