Geneva. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar blushed after hearing his praise at a program in Geneva. On Thursday, Ambassador Jean-David Levitte praised External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar while interacting with him at the Geneva Center for India’s Security Policy. A rare sight was seen in this program. Where the ambassador said that ‘you are a star in the world…’ After this Jaishankar was seen blushing. When Levitte expressed his happiness at having the privilege of talking to Jaishankar and said that ‘he is a star in the world’, the Foreign Minister was seen expressing gratitude with folded hands.
Earlier, Jaishankar arrived in Geneva, Switzerland and began his visit by paying tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. During his visit, the Foreign Minister is scheduled to meet the Swiss Foreign Minister to review the close partnership between the two countries and explore ways to further enhance bilateral relations.

Talking about the upcoming Quad summit in the US, External Affairs Minister Jaishankar said, “We hope that in the coming days, we will have a Quad summit in the US. Over time, there is growing confidence in most parts of the Indo-Pacific that it is doing a great job for the region.” The 2024 Quad summit involving the US, Australia, India and Japan will be held in Delaware on September 21. Earlier, India was to host this year’s summit, while the US was to host it in 2025. However, reports suggest that the two countries have agreed to exchange hosting responsibilities. The 2024 summit is now going to be held in the US, while India will host it next year.

Jaishankar on BRICS
When asked specifically about the expansion of BRICS in the near future, Jaishankar pointed to India’s absence in the G-7. There was another club called the G-7 and you don’t let anyone else enter this club. So we created our own club. As it started, it gained a life of its own over time. Others also saw value in it.
