Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said on Saturday that Indian drones will now become a symbol of the country’s “new technical revolution”, which is thanks to the country’s largest aero engine test bed, Rafa MPHIBR in Gautam Buddha Nagar in Uttar Pradesh.
Singh said that despite assuming the responsibility of the Ministry of Defense for more than 6 years, he ever established such a big and innovative establishment to the youth like the institute’s founders, Vishal Mishra and Vivek Mishra.
He also said that neither America nor China can detect Indian drones flying in the sky. “Today, the youth is not only making a company, but is creating a new thinking and direction in the defense sector. Now, when Indian drones fly, neither America nor China will be able to detect them – this is a very big achievement.”
The Defense Minister emphasized the need to include drones in war policy, calling them important for modern war strategy.
“Generally, when we hear the words ‘aircraft’, images of Tejas, Rafael and fighter jets come to mind. It is natural, as these are all fighter aircraft. However, in today’s changing times, drones have emerged as an important force in this area. Drones are also being deployed in areas where large equipment can no longer reach,” they said.
“If you closely inspect the Russia -Ukraine conflict, you will see that the drone has been used extensively – first, now, and continuously. It proves that it has become absolutely necessary to understand the importance of drones and include them in our war policy,” Singh said.
The Union Minister said that the manufacturing unit is a “strong reflection” of the vision of the inverse India in private facilities.
Highlighting the history of the drone, Singh said that in his early days, he was used only for monitoring and reconnaissance. “Later, some countries began to develop fighter drones, and many countries started deploying them in border conflicts.”
Singh said, “The countries investing in drone technology have gained a significant lead in the region, while many others have been left behind. My six to six and a half years of experience (as Minister of Defense), I can say that the reality of today’s defense sector rests on aircraft technology and drone,” Singh said.
