Cooperation portal is a government platform, which law enforcement agencies use social media companies to seek information. The X says that the government is seeking a lot of and non-essential information from them through this portal, which is affecting their privacy and freedom.
The X has said in the court that this move of the government may put the privacy of their users in danger. The company claims that the demands of the government violate Article 19 (1) (a) and 21 of the Indian Constitution, which guarantees freedom of expression and right to life. It will be interesting to see what the court’s decision in this case will be. But it is clear that the conflict between social media companies and the government over data and confidentiality is increasing.
