Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been welcomed with Bhojpuri tradition in Trinidad and Tobago.
PM Modi Tinidad and Tobago tour live: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached Port of Spain on a trip to Trinidad and Tobago. There was a strong reception of PM Narendra Modi in the traditional style, where he was received with a cultural presentation of traditional Bhojpuri Chautal. This is Modi’s first official visit to this Caribbean country as Prime Minister and this is also the first bilateral visit of an Indian Prime Minister after 1999.
The Prime Minister shared a video of the cultural program on his official X (East Twitter) account and wrote, ‘Bhojpuri Chautal’s echo in Trinidad and Tobago!’ Through this message, he appreciated the cultural connection and hospitality of the population of Indian origin there. During his visit, PM Modi also met the Indian community settled in Trinidad and Tobago and appreciated his contribution to the development of the country. He said, ‘People who reached Trinidad and Tobago years before India, have made their mark in many areas here and are playing an important role in the development of the country today. Along with this, he has also maintained his connection with Indian culture. I am grateful for the unforgettable reception given by the Indian community in Port of Spain.

PM Modi also met the local winners of ‘India’ quiz (Shankar Ramjatan, Nicholas Maraj and Vince Mahato). He said that this quiz is further strengthening the association with India among Indian migrant youth around the world. The yatra is taking place at the invitation of Trinidad and Tobago Prime Minister Kamala Pasad-Bissar. Prime Minister Bisacer, 38 cabinet ministers and four MPs of the country were present in the reception of PM Modi. He was also given a formal Guard of Honor at Piyarco International Airport.
