Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday congratulated Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus as he administered the oath to the eminent economist and Grameen Bank founder as the head of the interim government in Bangladesh.

Taking to microblogging platform X (formerly known as Twitter), the Indian Prime Minister said, “My best wishes to Professor Muhammad Yunus on his new assignment. We hope that normalcy will be restored soon and the safety of Hindus and all other minority communities will be ensured.”

The Indian Prime Minister said that New Delhi is committed to working with Dhaka to meet the shared aspirations of the people of both countries for peace, security and development.

Prime Minister Modi said, “India is committed to working with Bangladesh to meet the shared aspirations of the people of both countries for peace, security and development.”
