The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEE) said it will publish this year’s entrance examination results on August 7 after a delay of more than a month. However, the WBJEE results 2025 have been re -postponed.
According to Careers360, the Calcutta High Court on Wednesday initiated an contempt proceedings when the merit-list candidates expressed concern over the admission proceedings despite the court order.
The news portal said that WBJEE Board Chairman Sonali Chakraborty Banerjee has confirmed that Wbjee result 2025 has been postponed.
The WBJEE exam was held on 27 April.
Contempt proceedings
The Career 360 report stated that Justice Kausik Chanda started contempt proceedings and expressed “surprise and concern” in the way the state the state had worked in violation of its order, which did not stop by the Supreme Court.

Why is the WBJEE result being postponed on 2025?
On July 28, a bench of the Supreme Court consisted of Chief Justice Brai and Justice of Vinod Chandran and NV Anjaria, while hearing the appeal of the state government, vacated the High Court’s stay and said that “Prima Facial, High Court order seems wrong.”
On 17 June, the Calcutta High Court ordered an interim stay on information issued by the state government, in which 140 subdivisions were made in relation to reservation under OBC-A and OBC-B categories.
The state prepared a new list after incorporating more than 77 communities in the OBC list in May 2024.
