West Bengal Teacher Recruitment 2025: Education Minister Bratya Basu announced on Thursday that after the Durga Puja Festival, the West Bengal government will soon issue a notification for the recruitment of 13,421 teachers.

He said that this will bring good news to teach job candidates in the state during the festival season.

“On the initiative of Honorable Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, West Bengal State Primary Education Council is preparing to issue a notification for the recruitment for 13,421 vacant posts. The recruitment process will start after worship!

The West Bengal Board of Primary Education announced the results of Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) 2023 on 24 September.

Out of 2,73,147 candidates, who appeared in the TET 2023 examination, only 6,754 candidates, or 2.47 percent, managed to qualify, a senior board official confirmed.

Meanwhile, the TET 2022 candidates, who are still waiting for the interview call despite approved the exam, staged a protest earlier this month, claiming that there are about 50,000 vacancies in primary and upper primary schools.

However, Education Minister Basu rejected the claim, stating that the number was exaggerated and clarified that the board would soon issue a notification to fill the actual vacant posts.
