Volkswagen is preparing a facelifted tigun spotted on Indian roads. It marks the first major update of the SUV since the launch in 2021.
Volkswagen is creating a facelifted version of Taigun, and once again a test mule has been seen on Indian roads, partially camouflaged, but many external updates are revealed. Since its inception in September 2021, Taigun has received older twicex, but this will be the first broad facelift of the SUV. The fresh model is likely to come to the showroom at the end of 2025 or in the beginning of 2026, fighting with popular rivals such as Hyundai Creator, Kia Celtos and Maruti Suzuki Victoris.
The test vehicle highlighted the revised style on the front and back. The SUV now gets slimmer LED headlamps and a redesign nose, where the previous two-tukde upper grills have been replaced by a single, broad unit. Both headlights and tail-lamps help Eco-design cuse, from the large Tiguan R-Line of Eco Design, to align Tigun with the look of the global family of Woakeswagen. We are also expecting that there will be a new set of alloy wheels on the sides. Depending on the version, the design may vary.

Internal update
The cabin is not expected to undergo any harsh changes. Instead, the facelift will bend more on cosmetic freshness than a feature overhaul. Buyers may expect new trim options and perhaps some additional equipment upgradation, but the overall layout must be familiar. There is a possibility that the brand will include advanced driver AIDS system, 360-degree parking camera and some soft touch materials.
Currently, the Taigun is equipped with a 10.1-inch infotainment screen, supporting wireless Android auto and Apple carplay, which is paired with a six-spicker setup consisting of a subworm and amplifier on high trims. Other highlights include ambient light, ventilated front seats, automatic climate control, a wireless phone charger and 8 -inch digital driver display.
Engine and performance
Under the hood, Volkswagen is ready to continue with the existing turbo-petrol engine options. The 1.0-liter three-cylinder TSI motor distributes 113 bhp and 178 Nm, available with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic. The more powerful 1.5-liter four-cylinder TSI produces 148 bhp and 250 Nm, paired with 6-speed manual or 7-speed DSG automatic.
