Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has released a revised notification for Revenue Accountant Recruitment 2026. This revised notification includes changes in the number of category-wise posts, which has increased expectations among candidates from many categories. Importantly, despite this change, the application process and eligibility criteria will remain unchanged.
According to the revised notification, 717 posts have been increased for the OBC category, while 960 posts have been reduced for the general category. A total of 7,994 posts are to be filled under this recruitment drive. The new notification now includes 3,205 posts for General Category, 2,158 posts for OBC Category, 1,679 posts for Scheduled Caste, 160 posts for Scheduled Tribe and 792 posts for Economically Weaker Section. This change was made keeping in mind the demand of the candidate and social balance.
In the previous notification, 4,165 posts were reserved for general category, 1,441 for OBC, 1,446 for SC, 150 for ST and 792 for EWS. Following the demand of OBC category candidates for increase in the number of posts, the Commission reviewed the category-wise posts and issued a revised notification.
UPSSSC Lekhpal Recruitment 2026 Application Process
The Commission has confirmed that there are no changes to the application process. Only those candidates who have successfully qualified UP PET 2025 can apply for this recruitment. The online application process will start today, December 29, 2025, and will continue till January 28, 2026. Candidates can apply by visiting the official website of UPSSSC – upsssc.gov.in.
UPSSSC Lekhpal Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
Candidates will be selected for Revenue Accountant post on the basis of written examination and document verification. A merit list will be prepared on the basis of performance in the written examination, after which the documents of the selected candidates will be verified. The Commission has also clarified that only those candidates who have qualified UP PET 2025 will be eligible to participate in this recruitment process.
After the release of the revised notification, candidates are advised to prepare carefully keeping in mind the number of posts in their respective categories and complete the application process on time. Since the number of posts has changed, the level of competition may also be affected. Therefore, strategic preparation will be the key to success.
