UPSC Civil Services Prelims Exam 2024: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is expected to release the notification and start the registration process for the Civil Services Preliminary Examination (UPSC CSE Prelims 2024) on Wednesday (February 14). The notification will be available on UPSC websites – upsc.gov.in and upsconline.nic.in.
Registrations for the Indian Forest Service (IFS) preliminary examination through Civil Services Examination (CSE) will also begin from today.
According to the examination calendar of Public Service Commission, the application window will remain open till March 5. start The exam is scheduled for May 26.
Once the notification is issued, Union Public Service Commission Candidates will know about the eligibility criteria, number of vacancies this year and other details including the exam and selection process.
Civil Services Main Exam 2024 is likely to start on 20th September 2024 which will last for the next five days to cover various papers.
UPSC CSE 2024: Vacancy
Every year, UPSC conducts the Civil Services Examination to select candidates for key posts in Group A and B of various government departments such as the Indian Administrative Service.I a s), Indian Revenue Service (IRS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and Indian Foreign Service (IFS).
The selection process for UPSC CSE is divided into three stages: Preliminary, Mains and Personality Test.
Every year more than 10 lakh candidates register for the first round of examination – Prelims. In 2023, 13 lakh applicants appeared for the preliminary round of CSE, out of which more than 14,600 candidates were selected for the main examination round.
UPSC CSE 2024 notification will also announce the number of vacancies this year. For the last two UPSC sessions, 2022-23 and 2023-24, there were 1,011 and 1,105 vacancies.
UPSC CSE 2024: Educational Qualification
A candidate with a graduate degree from a recognized university can apply for UPSC CSE 2024. Candidates with recognized professional qualifications (Engineering, Medical, etc.) are also eligible.
If a candidate has already appeared in the qualifying examination but the result is awaited, he/she can also appear in the preliminary examination. They must submit proof of passing the requisite qualifying examination in the Detailed Application Form-I (DAF 1) for the Main Examination.
In exceptional cases, UPSC may consider a candidate who does not possess any of the above qualifications as a candidate, provided he has passed an examination conducted by any other institution, the standard of which, in the opinion of the Commission, is appropriate for admission to UPSC CSE. .
Candidates who have passed the final professional MBBS or any other equivalent professional examination but have not completed their internship by the time of the Civil Services (Main) Examination will be provisionally admitted to the examination, if they possess the original degree or certificate. Submitted by the concerned competent authority at the time of interview.
