The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has launched the online registration process for the recruitment of 357 Assistant Commandant (ACS) in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFS). Eligible and interested candidates can apply for this recruitment drive by 25 March on upsconline.gov.in.

There are temporary vacancies to be filled through this recruitment exam:
BSF: 24 vacancies
CRPF: 204 Vacancies
CISF: 92 vacancies
ITBP: 4 Vacancies
SSB: 33 vacancies
Total: 357 vacancies
Admit cards will be released on upsconline.gov.in on the final working day of the preceding week of the exam. The written test is scheduled for August 3, 2025. The test will have two papers. The paper will be held from 1 am to 12 noon and the paper will be from 2 pm to 5 pm.
The first paper will be on general capacity and intelligence and will take 250 points. The question in this letter will be of objective (many answers) types in which questions will be set in English and Hindi.
Paper 2 will take general studies, essays and understanding and 200 marks. In this letter, candidates will be allowed to write an alternative to writing an essay component in English or Hindi, but the medium of prisis writing, understanding components and other communication/language skills will be English only.
The written examination will be followed by physical efficiency test (PET), Physical Standards Testing (PST), interview/personality testing and medical standards.
Candidates should not be at least 20 years and more than 25 years old on 1 August, 2025. This means that they would not have happened before August 2, 2000 and later compared to August 2005. A bachelor’s degree or a equivalent qualification is the minimum educational qualification required for UPSC CAPF ACS 2025. Candidates appearing for the final degree examination will be allowed to apply provisionally. If they qualify for the PET/PST round, they will need to prove that they have passed the qualifying examination within the stipulated time (CAPF (AC), Examination, Rule 15 of 2025 as per sub-Rulas 9.1 and 9.2 of 2025).
“Recognized proof of passing the qualification test only. UPSC said that degree certificate/final mark sheet/provisional degree certificate etc.
“In extraordinary cases, the Union Public Service Commission can treat a candidate who does not have any predecessor qualification as a qualified candidate, provided that he has passed an examination conducted by other institutions, of which the standard commission’s opinion justifies his admission to the examination.”
The commission said, “Candidates with professional and technical qualifications who are recognized by the government equal to professional and technical degrees will also be eligible for admission to the examination.”
The candidates who were eventually selected on the basis of the previous examination will not be eligible to appear in the latter examination for the recruitment of Assistant Commandant in the participating CAPF.
Application fee is 200 and it is exempted for women/SC/ST candidates.
