According to an official press release, PM Modi will visit Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand on Thursday (September 11).
In Varanasi, PM Modi will host the Prime Minister of Mauritius, Navinchandra Ramgulam, who is on a state visit to India from 9 to 16 September.
During bilateral discussions, the two leaders will review the full spectrum of cooperation with special attention to development partnership and capacity building.
He is also expected to discuss opportunities for cooperation in emerging domains such as renewable energy, digital public infrastructure and blue economy along with cooperation in health, education, science and technology, energy, infrastructure.
The meeting between two leaders in Varanasi underlined the permanent civilian connect, spiritual bonds and peepal relations of deep people who have shaped special and unique relations between India and Mauritius.
The yatra is made at the positive pace generated by the visit of Mauritius by PM Modi’s state visit in March 2025, during which the two leaders raised bilateral relations for ‘increased strategic partnership’.
As a valuable partner and close maritime neighbor in the Indian Ocean region, Mauritius is important for the Mahasagar (mutual and overall advancement for security and development in the region) and ‘Neberhood First’ policy.
The deep cooperation between the two countries gives importance not only for the prosperity of the people of the two countries but also for the collective aspirations of the global South.
The Varanasi summit will be an important milestone in the common journey of India and Mauritius in a shared journey of India and Mauritius.
After Varanasi, PM Modi will visit Dehradun in Uttarakhand, where he will conduct an aerial survey of flood-affected areas and will preside over a high-level review meeting with officials.
