The Special Task Force (STF) of Uttarakhand Police has arrested the 47th accused in connection with irregularities in the Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC) graduate level examination, a police officer said.
The accused has been identified as Kashan Khan, a resident of Firozabad district. He was arrested from Aligarh.
According to police officials, the STF team had been raiding possible places in Aligarh for a week to nab the accused.
UKSSSC conducted the graduate level examination in December 2021 and declared the result for 916 successful candidates. However, the commission canceled the examination and results in December 2022 after the investigation conducted by STF found massive irregularities.
In this regard, a case was registered at Raipur Police Station in Dehradun on July 22, 2022 under section 420 (fraud) of the Indian Penal Code.
Senior Superintendent of Police (STF) Ayush Aggarwal said, “Following the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, a reward will be given in the UKSSSC paper leak case.” Last year, a reward of Rs 50,000 was announced for the arrest of accused Kashan Khan. Our teams were trying to arrest Khan and raids were being conducted at possible hideouts.
“With no success initially, I had directed my teams to manually collect information and make a concrete plan for his arrest,” SSP Aggarwal said.
He said, “A week ago, we received input that the accused was hiding in Aligarh, and immediately a team was sent to Aligarh for his arrest. After raiding for a week, we finally arrested him from Mohalla Jamalpur area of Aligarh. Later he was brought to Dehradun.”
The police officer said that this is the 47th arrest in the case of rigging in UKSSSC graduate level examination. Overall, 62 people have been arrested so far for irregularities in the four recruitment examinations conducted by UKSSSC.
SSP Aggarwal said that during interrogation, Khan told that he was working as a printing machine operator in Lucknow-based company RMS since 2018. His sister’s marriage was to take place in February 2022.
“He stole the copy of the graduation level examination question paper at the request of his associates Rupendra Jaiswal and Sadiq Musha while packing and handed it over to them. given between mines 4 – 5 lakh for the work,” he said.

After the matter came to light, he left his house to avoid arrest. The police officer said that he kept roaming from place to place and stayed in Agra, Delhi, Ajmer, Agra and other places.
SSP said that four separate cases have been registered regarding irregularities in the examination. These include Graduate Level Recruitment Examination 2021, Secretariat Guard Recruitment Examination, Forester Recruitment Examination and Gram Panchayat Development Officer Recruitment Examination 2016.
