Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC) Chairman GS Martolia announced that the examination originally scheduled for October 12 for technical posts in the Agriculture Department has been postponed. He said that the admit cards for the examination have not been issued yet and it will not be held on the scheduled date. Around 600 candidates were expected to appear in this recruitment exam, which aimed to fill 20-25 vacancies.

Dhami said, “Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC), taking an important decision in the interest of students, has canceled the graduate level recruitment examination held on September 21. This decision has been taken keeping in mind the report of the inquiry commission, so that the sanctity, transparency and credibility of the examinations are maintained in the state.”
He said, “This re-conducted examination will not have any impact on the schedule of other examinations. Ensuring a fair opportunity for every student in Uttarakhand and a reliable examination system is our priority. We have recommended the CBI to investigate the cheating case; our government will not allow any tampering with the future of students and the trust of parents.”

According to a PTI report, UKSSC Chairman GS Martolia said, “The graduate level examination held on September 21 for recruitment in various government departments in the state has been cancelled.”
He said that the examination will be held within three months and the date will be announced soon.
During the examination, three pages of the question paper were reportedly leaked from a center in Haridwar, leading to widespread uproar across the state.
More than one lakh candidates had participated in the examination for 416 vacancies. In response to the alleged leak, candidates seeking employment under the banner of Uttarakhand The unemployed union launched massive protests, leading the state government to recommend a CBI inquiry into the incident.
Khalid Malik, the main suspect arrested in the graduation level examination paper leak case, revealed during interrogation that he had hidden his mobile phone in the examination center a day before the examination. On the day of the exam, she allegedly used the phone to take pictures of three pages of the question paper in the washroom and then sent the pictures to her sister.
Earlier, the examination scheduled for October 5 for 45 posts including Cooperative Inspector Class II and Assistant Development Officer (Cooperative) was also postponed. The Commission explained that this decision was taken in response to the requests of the candidates and to provide additional time to enhance their preparation for the examination.
