The Duullingo English Test (DET) has announced to open the application for the prescribed scholarship on the Manthan Portal. The scholarship was introduced in partnership with the office of Principal Scientific Advisor (PSA) earlier this year, which aims to support Indian women in STEM by giving a grant of 30,000 USD for tuition fees.
According to the press release, the grant is aimed at graduate or master’s degrees at the American University who accepts DET for admission to Spring ’26 semester. Applications are currently open on the Manthan Portal and will be accepted by 30 June.
The scholarship recipient will be announced in September 2025, and a 30,000 USD will be paid for the tuition fee for the winning applicant’s spring 2026 semester. Additionally, finalists will get guidance and support from STEM experts, helping them navigate their academic and professional journey.
Selection process
Application phase: Candidates will have to include their applications DET score of 120, a strong academic record and a proposal, which displays their vision for innovation in STEM areas.
Stem Effect Motion Challenge: Shortlisted candidates will need to identify an essential global or community issue related to the stem and propose an innovative solution for this. Submission can be a brief offer (up to 1000 words) or a 5 -minute video, which can demonstrate their creativity, research and possible effects.
Final interview: The finalist will have a virtual interview with each jury panel.
eligibility criteria
To be eligible for the prescribed scholarship, applicants must be:
– Identify as a woman and become an Indian citizen.
– Live in India and has a strong academic record (60% or more) in the background of science from a recognized Indian institution.
Scheme to enroll in a full -time graduate or postgraduate STEM program at a partner American University starting in the spring semester of 2026.
– DET score of 120 or more has been achieved.
– Show a dedication to address leadership skills, innovation in STEM, and social issues.
– Plan to return to India and have the ability to convert new ideas into a successful startup.
