As Delhi residents prepare to take Uber Shuttle buses for their daily commute, Uber has launched a new campaign called #UberReads aimed at raising awareness about this shared ride product that can go a long way in decongesting roads. The new fleet of electric Uber Shuttle buses will feature popular books and bestsellers from Penguin Random House India to encourage riders to read during their ride.
The #UberReads campaign is designed to allow commuters to sit comfortably in air-conditioned EV buses with pre-booked seats and choose their favourite book from best-sellers – promoting reading instead of scrolling on smartphones during long journeys.
Uber Shuttle allows riders to book seats up to a week in advance, make cashless payments, view the bus’s live location on the Uber app, and access a 24-hour safety helpline.
The month-long campaign will see #UberReads EV buses plying on predefined routes across Delhi, covering the most frequented routes between business districts and large residential areas.

The ‘#UberReads’ branded buses feature a selection of Penguin’s most popular books, ranging from fiction to biographies and self-help books to mysteries, giving passengers a chance to relive the joy of paperback reading. Passengers will have the freedom to choose a book of their choice and enjoy reading it during their journey. They will also be encouraged to put the book back in its place for the next passenger when they get off the bus at their stop.
How to book an Uber Shuttle trip:
Open the Uber app
Enter your destination, select ‘Shuttle’ option
Review your fare
Choose your preferred route and pick-up time, and then tap Request
We will send you the driver and bus details 25 minutes before your journey.
You can track the shuttle through the app before your pickup time.
