Rajasthan Forest Department has prepared this lion safari at a cost of Rs 3.50 crore in 20 hectare area. The stars of Safari will be the Asiatic lions ‘Emperor’ (8 years) and ‘Sunaina’ (4 years), which were brought from Junagadh in Gujarat last year. The Forest Department is planning to breed them, so that the population of lions can be increased in future.
The safari will run from 9 am to 5 pm. Three protective packed jeeps will be available for tourists, which will run with petrol or diesel. Through them, the tourists will be able to see the lions closely in the open forest. The ticket price has been kept ₹ 160 per person. There is a preparation for a grand opening in October, in which Punjab Governor Gulabchand Kataria is expected to be involved. A part of the safari was damaged by the storm in May, which has now been completely corrected. On August 27, a three -year tender will be opened for jeep operating, which will be renewed every year.
Tourism experts say that a new chapter is going to be added to the tourism sector of Rajasthan. This Lion Safari will take the tourism of Udaipur to new heights along with Rajasthan. Millions of domestic and foreign tourists reach Udaipur from October to March, and this safari will prove to be a unique experience for them.
