Many times unexpected things are found during excavation. Something similar happened in Egypt. Excavation of the cemetery was going on there, when archaeologists found a tomb there. But some such things came out from inside him that everyone was surprised to see. There were remains of many people in the cemetery, but there was treasure lying near them. The most important thing is that three generations were buried in this cemetery.
According to the report of Live Science, the remains of 11 persons were found by the team working in the South Assaf cemetery. These included five women, two men and three children. One could not be identified whether it was a man or a woman. When archaeologists investigated it, it was found that it was from around 1981 to 1802 BC.
The head of the South Assaf Conservation Project said the dead were originally wrapped in linen and buried in wooden coffins. However, after their burial, there was a heavy flood in the area, which damaged the remains. The family remains were damaged. He told that this is the first tomb of the Middle Ages found in this area.
Treasure was found with these skeletons. These include many jewelery including necklaces, bracelets, armlets and scarab rings. Mirrors made of copper alloy with ivory handles were found in two cemeteries. One of the handles had a four-headed elephant carved on it, which was associated with an Egyptian goddess. There was a pearl necklace made of 30 sapphires.
A “Ba” amulet was also placed in the middle. The “Ba” amulet was considered part of a person’s soul in Egypt and was often depicted in the form of a bird. An idol made of ceramic has also been found, whose legs have been cut off. It was decorated with diamonds. There are holes in the head of the idol and the hair was strung with beads. However, the hair was broken and about 4000 beads were scattered in the soil.
