Mahesh, who was studying at a prestigious coaching center in Sikar, secured 99.99% in the examination on Saturday. This was his first attempt.
Mahesh Kumar (18), a native of Hanumangar, Rajasthan, said, “I wanted to pursue art subjects in the last years of the school and dreamed of chasing UPSC.

Mahesh, who was studying at a prestigious coaching center in Sikar, secured 99.99% in the examination on Saturday. Mahesh said, “This was my first attempt. I started preparing for the exam in 2022, but could not appear for it because I was at a young age. Although I expected a good result, I could not believe that I would be at the top of the country.”
Mahesh used to study 6 to 7 hours a day. “I used to study 6 to 7 hours daily. I reduced it to 4 to 5 hours before the examination to keep myself stress-free.”

Both Mahesh’s parents are teachers of government school. “She never put any pressure on me. A week before the exam, my mother also reached Sikar and started living with me. I used to struggle a little with biology in my early coaching days. But I slowly developed my strength. This year, the questions were also very unexpected. I could never imagine that I could join a Grand-Celand Celebration Organized.

Apart from Mahesh, at least three more students from Rajasthan – Tani, Soumya Sharma, and Manvendra Rajpurohit secured their positions in the top 15, showing the NTA website.
