Clinical tests to manage thyroid problems in pregnant women:
Dr. Upasana Garg revealed, “Regular thyroid function tests including TSH (thyroid stimulating hormones), T3, and T4 are effective tests to detect thyroid functions. These blood tests are effective in detecting abnormalities. FT3 And FT4 levels are also advised to know the level of real “effective” (non -bound/free) thyroid hormone in circulation. “
He said, “Many times, just a thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) test can help to know the thyroid function. Low TSH level may mean a hyperthyroidism, while high TSH levels suggest hypothyroidism . In pregnancy, TSH levels occur due to hormonal changes.
Routine thyroid testing helps to effectively deal with thyroid issues.
