Harsh Rajput and Shreyas, two students from Patna, Bihar, presented their unique machine in an exhibition organized by GIAN organization in Delhi. While talking to Local 18, Harsh and Shreyas told that they had seen in the news that many children were falling ill due to the consumption of tomatoes laced with chemicals. Also, the general public does not have the ability to afford to get fruits and vegetables tested in a lab. Seeing this problem, he decided to make an economical and useful device.
Device Specifications
Harsh told that this device is currently a prototype model, which can test the purity of five types of fruits and vegetables. These include apple, orange, guava, brinjal and sapota. The device tells whether these fruits and vegetables are edible or not.
How does this device work?
Harsh told that this device works on two parameters. Two lights have been fitted in it, whose rays hit the fruits and vegetables. After this, the result appears on the screen of the device, which shows whether the fruit or vegetable is fit to eat or not.
Minor expense incurred in making the device
Harsh told that he used household items to make this machine, due to which its total cost came to only ₹ 1200. They are now planning to produce it on a large scale and bring it to the market soon. Harsh has also received many awards for this device.
future plan
The purpose of this device is to make food safety accessible to the general public. Harsh and Shreyas believe that once this device becomes available in the market, it will prove to be very beneficial for the general public.
