New Delhi. This time, if you are forbidden to see the darshan of Mother Vaishno Devi during the summer holidays, then Srinagar is also planned to leave the house. Otherwise, Mata Vaishno Devi will stay away from Katra to see the train going to Srinagar. The same thing would come to the mind again and again that if I had left a plan from the house, Kashmir Valley would also roam. Because the train between Katra to Srinagar is now going to start.
The Pamban Bridge has been prepared to connect Rameshwaram from the railway line from all over the country. The Prime Minister will inaugurate this bridge on April 6 next month. After this, Rameshwaram will be able to go straight from the train. Right now the train goes till Mandapam. At the same time, according to the Ministry of Railways, after the commencement of Pamban Bridge, Katra-Banihal (USBRL) railway line will also be inaugurated. In this way, the Rameshwaram from Kashmir will be connected to the railway line. The railway line between Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and Srinagar has been prepared. Its trial has been completed and CRS’s clearance has also been received.
Train is running on both sides
In the USBRL, the train is running on both sides except for some part of the middle. 18 km in the year 2013 Banihal-Kazigund rail section and 25 km Udhampur-Katra section in the year 2014 and 48.1 km in February 2024 last year are running on Banihal-Sangan Rail section. 19 passenger special trains are running on Baramulla-Badgam-Banihal section.
Project started in 2002
The project was mainly started in 2002, when the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link Project (USBRL) was declared “National Project”. Under this, a railway line has been constructed to connect the Kashmir Valley from Udhampur to Baramulla. This project has been the most challenging task done by Indian Railways after independence.
A look at the railway section
To connect Srinagar to the entire country by rail route, the 111 km long railway section of Katra-Banihal has been prepared. Trains are already being run from Banihal to Baramulla. Tunnel T33 in Reasi is fully prepared. Now Srinagar Rail route from Katra.
