Sikar: If you are planning to visit the world famous Khatushyam Ji temple, then today we will tell you about another famous temple which is historically important. This place falls under the Department of Archeology and is on Harsh Parvat, located 14 km from Sikar district headquarters. This mountain attracts tourists due to the temple of Lord Shiva and Bhairav Nath built on its height and peak. The height of Harsha Parvat is about 3100 feet, which is the second highest mountain after Mount Abu in the state. Here in 1018, Chauhan Raja Singh Raj established the Harsh Nagari and Harshanath Temple.
Aurangzeb’s army broke the temple
The inscription found on the remains of these temples shows that there were a total of 84 temples here. Now all the temples are in ruins, which were very huge and beautiful earlier. This temple was broken by his commander Khan Jahan Bahadur and his army on the orders of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in 1679 AD. Now only the remains of the temple are found here. This temple is very special from history and religious terms.
Hub is of wind energy
Pawan Chakkis have been installed on Harsh Parvat. These fans rotate at the height and make electricity. A 7.2 MW wind power project started here in 2004. Here the towers that convert winds into energy are installed. The electricity generated here is currently supplied by the Electricity Corporation to various villages. A paved road has been built to go to 3100 feet high mountain, which has increased the number of tourists. People come from far and wide to see the sun set of Harsha Parvat. People also come here for riding. On reaching the mountain, a beautiful view of nature is seen. This tourist point is 45 km from Khatushyam ji.
