According to Indian masterminds, Mittal was born in 1989 in Jalandhar. He completed his BTech in computer science from IIT Delhi and later approved the UPSC exam in his first attempt. Even while handling school, college and difficult exams, music was always an important part of his life.
Over the years, he recognized his talent and was given a ‘grade’ by All India Radio and Doordarshan. He is now seen as one of the bright young talents of Agra Gharna in Indian classical music.

Reacting to the post, a user wrote, “Boys after doing IIT and IAS.”
Another Jokingly Asked, “Sir, Aapka Dil Kisne Tod Diya. (Sir, Who Broke Your Heart).”
A comment read, “Respect that even after IIT Air6 and IAS, you are still chasing your passion, respect the sir.”
One person said, “This or nothing. What is the voice, what a tanwala quality.”

Interestingly, Kashish Mittal’s father, Jagdish Kumar, was an IPS officer. After following his footsteps, Kashish joined the Civil Service and served as an IAS officer for nine years. During this time, he worked as Additional Deputy Commissioner in Chandigarh and Deputy Commissioner of Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh. He was then part of the Ministry of External Affairs and Neeti, where he served as Additional Principal Secretary.
After moving away from civil services, Kashish dedicated his time to Indian classical music. His hard work gave him several honors including the Punjab State Award for Arts and Culture in 2007, followed by Saraswati Samman from IIT Delhi and in 2018, he was honored with Nad Sri Saman for his contribution to Hindustani classical music.
Even during his school and college days, Kashish was supported from the Center for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT), National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) and Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Scholarship.
