Varanasi: In the last few years, people’s craze for religious places has increased. Now due to increased facilities there, people also show interest in going there. For these reasons, Varanasi has become the best destination of Purvanchal in terms of religious tourism. In the year 2023, more than 8 crore 54 lakh tourists have reached Kashi Vishwanath’s Banaras. Not only Varanasi but other nearby districts have also benefited from this.
According to the data, a total of more than 8 crore 54 lakh tourists have come to Varanasi in the year 2023. 72 lakh 97 thousand devotees came to Vindhyachal, the court of Maa Vindhyavasini. Apart from this, 42 lakh 35 thousand tourists came to Ashtabhuja Devi, 25 lakh 41 thousand to Sitamarhi and 22 lakh 26 thousand tourists came to Sonbhadra.
Tourism increased around 100 km from Varanasi
Rajendra Kumar Rawat, Deputy Director of Tourism Department of Varanasi, said that due to the development in Varanasi and better connectivity with other cities, tourism has increased not only in Varanasi but also in the surrounding districts. Especially the tourist places within 100 to 200 kilometers around Varanasi are being liked a lot by the people.
Tourists are also liking the waterfall
Apart from religious tourism, it also includes natural beauty and water falls of Sonbhadra and Mirzapur districts. Tourists have also liked the beautiful water falls of Sonbhadra. Tourists are liking to spend time not only at Sonbhadra but also at the water falls of Chandauli district.
