New Delhi. In India, the number of car thefts has increased by more than double in 2023 compared to previous years. At the same time, the incidents of bike robbery are more than nine times that of cars. The national capital of India i.e. Delhi tops the list of most stolen vehicles. National capital Delhi tops the list of most recorded vehicle robberies in 2023. Delhi has 37% share in the total number of vehicles stolen in 2023. A vehicle is stolen here every 12 minutes. The areas with highest number of robberies include Uttam Nagar, Bhajanpura, Shahdara, Badarpur and Patparganj.
The 2023 Vehicle Theft Report states that Maruti Suzuki’s WagonR is the most stolen car in India, leaving behind even Maruti Suzuki’s Swift and Dezire. After this, the names of Hyundai’s Grand i10, Santro, Creta and Honda City are included.

The bike has been stolen.
Robbery rates in India are increasing significantly and bike theft has become nine times more common than car theft. Honda’s Splendor was recorded as the most stolen bike of 2023. After this there are the names of Honda Activa, TVS Apache and Royal Enfield Classic 350.
According to a report, the Gurugram Police Department said that ‘due to high resale value and high demand for spare parts, out of the 10 stolen bikes, six are Hero CD Deluxe, Hero HF Deluxe, Hero Splendor and Hero Splendor Plus.’
The report also shows that white colored cars were stolen the most and Bengaluru’s position in this list is 9%. It is followed by Chennai with 5% followed by other cities like Hyderabad, Mumbai and Kolkata. Whereas in Delhi, more than 3 lakh cases are registered annually.
