The school director was working as a fashion designer in Hong Kong. During the COVID-19 pandemic, when he returned, he saw students without proper education.
Speedwell English Spoken and Art School, located in Ward No. 4 Ambedkar Nagar, Ranchi, Jharkhand has recently provided a golden opportunity to learn English. For the last 5 years, English education is being given completely free of cost to people of all religions and castes.
During this, school director Vipin Kumar shared the reason behind opening this institute. Speaking to Local18, he said that he has completed the Bachelor of Design course and is working as a fashion designer in Hong Kong. During the Covid-19 pandemic, when he returned to his residence in Gumla, Jharkhand, he was working from home. During that time he saw that students in his area were roaming around without proper education. Then he planned to give free English education to the people around his house.
He further said that he started teaching on April 30, 2019. In the beginning, he had only five students. But since 2019 he is continuously providing free education to the students from 5th class to graduation level. Gradually the number of students increased and now he runs three batches. There has been a lot of improvement in the students studying here compared to before. They have seen improvement in matriculation, intermediate and graduation results.
After this they said that they provide the course completely free for four months. In these four months, English reading, writing, speaking, grammar, personality development, connection, organizational behavior, group discussion, art, technical drawing, mehndi design etc. are taught.
Apart from this, competitions like debate, science exhibition etc. are also organized in English from time to time to encourage the children and children are also given free copies, pens and study material as per their requirement.
The first batch at the institute runs from 6:00 am to 7:30 am, during which students of class 11 and 12 can register themselves. The second batch runs from 7:30 am to 9:00 am, in which undergraduate level students can enroll. Whereas the third batch runs from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm, in which students from class fifth to class ten can register themselves.
Each batch has a maximum seating capacity of 30 students. Registration for enrollment is going on. Registration is also free, so those who want to speak and learn English can register here.
