The Supreme Court of India gave partial relief to the Famous Podcaster and YouTuber Ranveer Allabia and has given him a permission to resume his podcast, The Ranveer show with certain conditions. This decision has come on the petition of Allahbadia in which he sought permission to continue the podcast, in which he said that this is the main source of his livelihood. Please tell that Allahbadia gives employment to more than 280 people. During the show, he had said some such things about the parents, which took a ban on the brushing of their content.
Although the court has allowed Ranveer to resume the show, but along with this, the court has also given strict guidelines. It states that the show should have content according to social decency. The case has sparked a debate on the balance between freedom of expression in the digital media sector and content regulation regulation. In addition, the court has rejected Allahabadia’s request for an international visit of Allahabadia, citing the ongoing investigation in the India’s Got latent dispute.
What was the whole matter?
The controversy over Allahabadia began when Raina’s Utube Show, India’s Got Latent came to a rampage. After this, Allahabadia had to face a lot of criticism. Later, Allahabadia admitted to the Maharashtra Cyber Police that his comment on the show was unfair and regrettable. Due to his comment, several FIRs were lodged against him, after which legal investigation is being done.
Earlier, the Supreme Court had strongly criticized Allahbadia’s statements and called them “condemnable and dirty”. The court questioned whether they have “license to say such things”.
