Moscow. India’s National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval is expected to attend a major security meeting organized by the Security Council of Russia earlier next week. Doval has been invited for the 13th international meeting of higher representatives on security issues on 27-29 May under the chairmanship of Sergei Shigu, Secretary, Russian Association.
The Russian Security Council said in a release that invitations have been sent to the leadership of more than 150 countries as well as more than 20 international organizations to attend the meeting. It states that invitations were also sent to Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) countries. Like India, Pakistan is also a member of SCO and its NSA Lieutenant General Aseem Malik is also expected to come to Moscow for a meeting.
South Asia columnist Sergei Stroke of the leading daily ‘Commerce’ told PTI that there is speculation that two major NSAs of India and Pakistan will be in Moscow in view of ‘Operation Sindoor’ and the Russian side may hold their face-to-face meeting.
The tension between India and Pakistan had increased after the Pahalgam attack. After the death of 26 people in the Pahalgam attack, India carried out accurate attacks on the terrorist structure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK) on the morning of May 7, after which Pakistan fired drones and missiles on 8, 9 and 10 May, but Akashtar and S-400 destroyed them in the air. After this, India reversed 9 to 11 Air Force bases of Pakistan.
The Pakistani Army appealed to the ceasefire, terrified by this strict military action. The Pakistani DGMO proposed to eliminate tension by contacting the Indian counterpart, on which the two countries agreed to the temporary ceasefire. India also presented evidence of its military action to the international community, which made it clear that India’s retaliation was not just self -defense, but was part of the decisive policy of rooting out the bases of terror.
