Students of Delhi University FYUP can now exit with a 3 -year degree or honor after 3 years, based on their course type, align with flexible education models of NEP 2020.
DU NEP 2020 allows FYUP students to exit after 3 years with degrees under guidelines.
The University of Delhi has announced that students have enrolled in their four -year graduate program (FYUP), now there is flexibility to exit after completing six semesters, which is equivalent to three academic years. This option allows eligible students to obtain a 3-year degree in multi-core subjects or to get honors degrees in single-core subjects based on their course structure.
Interested students can submit their intention online by logging into the portal on Slc.uod.ac.in. The university has advised students to carefully assess their academic and career objectives before choosing this route.
In a formal notification, the university said, “This eligible students encourages the students to carefully evaluate their educational and career goals before taking decisions and recommends consultation with their teachers and masters to make informed decisions.” The step corresponds to the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which advocates several entry and exit points in higher education, giving students more control over their academic journey.

In a separate development, the university has also made provisions for students who recalled their semester examinations due to the disruption caused by Operation Sindoor in May 2025. On 1 July, the Controller of Examinations Professor Gurpreet Singh Tuteja announced that the undergraduate and postgraduate students of 2024–25 academic and postgraduate students who were affected by the operation would be allowed to reopen for the missed examinations.
The university said, “All concerned students are informed that the last date for submission of Google Form for special examinations is till 10 July 2025 (Thursday), 11:59 pm.”
The university clarified that this opportunity is strict for students who could not appear for their examination on 13 May, 14 or 15, which were due to the circumstances arising from Operation Sindor. The affected students have to present a valid documentary proof to verify their claim.
