The State Home Department said that the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has declared the Amarnath Yatra routes as ‘no flying zone’.
The announcement of the ‘No Flying Zone’ order on 16 June, on 16 June, has been stated that various security arrangements are being made for the smooth and peaceful conduct of the upcoming Amarnath Yatra 2025. The pilgrimage is scheduled from July 3 to August 8, 2025.
Where are ‘no flying zones’?
It said that the Ministry of Home Affairs has advised that the entire Amarnath Yatra route has been declared ‘No Flying Zone’ from July 1 to August 10, 2025.
The Amarnath Yatra has two routes – Pahalgam Axis and Baltal Axis, and notice stated that “any kind of aviation platforms and equipment, including UAVs, drones, balloons, etc., are prohibited from effect from 1 July to 10 August, 2025”.
Are there any exceptions?
According to the notice, these restrictions will not be applicable to medical withdrawal, disaster management and monitoring by security forces. It states that a detailed SOP will be issued for such exceptions.
About Amarnath Yatra, security in security this year
The Amarnath Yatra attracts thousands of pilgrims across the country, which, according to the PTI report, either take the traditional Pahalgam route or the small Baltal route. For the first time, the period will be reduced by 38 days, and additional security will be provided.
ANI said that 581 companies of various Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) will be deployed this year. In addition, for the first time, jammers will be installed to protect the Amarnath Yatra convoy during its movement, which will be escorted by CAPFS.
During the passage of the convoy, all roads leading to travel routes and national highways will be temporarily blocked to ensure maximum security.
In addition to these measures, a comprehensive deployment will include road -opening parties (ROPs) to secure and clean the routes, for immediate response to quick action teams (KTS) for the immediate response, explosions to detect and neutralize the bomb disposal squad (BDS), 9 units (especially trained snifler dogs), and drone for Araeline.
Increased security measures come under the backdrop of the Pahalgam terror attack on 22 April, killing 26 people.
