SpiceJet: Once again, hundreds of passengers at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport had to spend more than an hour in a plane without air conditioner (AC). Whatever may have been the reason for the AC not working, only the passengers sitting in the plane know how they spent that one hour. Actually, this whole matter is about Spice Jet flight SG 476 going from Delhi to Darbhanga.
This flight was to depart from Terminal-1 of IGI Airport for Darbhanga. The boarding of passengers started on the plane at the scheduled time. After boarding the plane, the passengers realized that the AC of the cabin was not working. After waiting for some time, the passengers also complained to the cabin crew about the AC, but it was of no use. More than an hour passed by, but the AC did not work.
It is alleged that in the meantime the temperature inside the plane reached around 40 degrees, due to which many passengers started feeling suffocated and uneasy. To get relief from the heat, most of the passengers started fanning themselves with the magazines in the seat pockets. After a long wait, the plane took off, only after which the AC of the plane was turned on. The airlines have also put forth their side regarding this entire incident.
The airline says that the AC was not working properly due to the heat at Delhi airport. Due to the heat, the aircraft took some time to cool down. It is worth mentioning that something similar was seen in IndiGo’s flight from Delhi to Bagdogra a few days ago. The passengers of this flight were forced to stay in the aircraft without AC for about four hours. In this case, the airline blamed the high ground temperature.
