How Ryan Grevel lost 124 kg
Talking to Newsweek, Ryan recalled how his sedentary lifestyle and poor eating habits, including fast food for most food and daily intake up to 5,000 calories, increased weight continuously. His wake-up calls occurred when his ciropractor advised him to lose weight due to deteriorating joint issues. “At that time, I was about 475 pounds,” he recalled. “I received 12 more pounds, while I kept thinking that I needed to change something, and then decided to start working on myself,” he shared.
Initially, he tried to walk to lose weight, but could not tolerate his knee stress. Then he decided to buy the bike. Started as a practical step to reduce the pressure on its joints, soon became a complete-joy. He remembered how the ride reminded him of his childhood, and from that moment, he was bent.
‘Cycling has been the biggest task that I have done’
Ryan also talked about the physical boundaries in which he quickly broke two bikes, as they were not made for their size. Despite the failures, he did not give up. He eventually invested in a more durable bike, one who supported him because he started a long -range ride, sometimes a distance of over 100 miles in a single ride.
He shared that cycling did not only help them to burn fat and build muscles, but also helped to rebuild their mental health control. He said, “Cycling I have made the biggest talk for both aspects, mental and physical.”
More than just a fitness story, Ryan’s change reflects deep personal growth. He said that the discipline and clarity he has received through this visit has made him more current husband, father and leader. “I really believe that by going through this journey I have been made a better person, husband or wife, leader and father.”
