Good news for Ted Lasso fans! The Apple TV+ sports drama show is looking to get a green light for its fourth season, reports Deadline. Warner Bros. Television has picked up three of the original main cast members as returning cast members. Once the studio secures all three, it will offer new deals to cast members with expired SAG-AFTRA contracts.
Ted Lasso expected to return for season 4
The production house has roped in Hannah Waddingham, who will play AFC Richmond owner Rebecca Walton, Brett Goldstein, who will play hardman Roy Kent, and Jeremy Swift, who will play director of football operations Leslie Higgins. All three are members of Equity, the UK trade union for actors.

The outlet further reported that Jason Sudeikis, who plays the title character, is involved in the series revival as executive producer, along with Brendan Hunt, who plays Coach Beard, and Juno Temple (Keeley Jones). Sudeikis originally envisioned the show as a three-season comedy, but hasn’t closed the door on future possibilities.
Despite being willing to extend Ted Lasso, the show’s producers have left the decision entirely up to Sudeikis. Talks about a potential fourth season began soon after the Season 3 finale aired. Since it wasn’t supposed to be the final one, rumors about Season 4 quickly began to spread, with the cast admitting they’d be happy to reprise their roles.

Earlier this year, Warner Bros. TV CEO Channing Dungey hinted at the possibility of a Ted Lasso season 4. “I mean, you’ve seen the finale, there’s a little door in there that can be opened back up if needed,” Dungey told Variety in January.
“I wouldn’t put a full stop at the end of that sentence just yet. There’s still a lot of love for Ted Lasso. And I think there’s still a lot of enthusiasm from Apple for Ted Lasso,” Dungey said, adding, “If the opportunity arises, we’d be excited again to make more… There’s always conversations going on, but nothing is official.”
