The sales of Tata’s electric vehicle (EV) saw a fall of 22.82 percent with 5,343 units sold in February, selling 6,923 units sold a year ago.
Tata Motors announced its sales for February 2025, and the cumulative sales (domestic exports) of the automaker was at 46,811 units, declining 8.79 percent compared to 51,321 units sold in February 2024.
EV sales declines by double digits
In particular, Tata’s Electric Vehicle (EV) sales saw a double -point dip of 22.82 percent, with 5,343 units sold in February, against 6,923 units sold a year ago. Based on the month-by-month, the EV sales of the automaker were flat, 5,240 units were sold in January this year. Tata is one of the biggest players in the Indian EV segment and is currently facing low demand in space.

He said, Tata Motors saw a healthy growth in exports in February 2024, shipping 376 passenger vehicles, which increased by 596 percent year-by-year, as compared to 54 units sold in February 2023.
TATA’s total domestic sales (passenger + commercial) was at 77,232 units, which was a 9 percent year-old decline over the 84,834 units sold during the same period last year. In February last year, commercial vehicle sales have fallen by 7 percent from 35,085 units. In February 2024, CV exports increased by 14 percent from 1,518 units, to 1,736 units in February 2025.
New launch planned to promote volume in 2025
Tata is looking into an optimistic year, in which new model launch is planned to make up for recession in passenger vehicle sales. The company demonstrated the production versions of Sierra Ice and Harrier EV at the 2025 Auto Expo. Both models are likely to come later in the year and promise to help promote versions in ice and EV segments respectively.
