New Delhi. Tata Motors is constantly expanding its product portfolio. The company is now also focusing on launching performance variants of its vehicles. Performance variants are more powerful vehicles than the standard models. The next performance-oriented car in the list of Tata Motors is going to be the Altroz Racer. The company is planning to launch this car in June 2024 with a more powerful engine and sporty look.
Tata Motors had already revealed the Altroz Racer, but now the booking of the car has also started at some dealerships. Tata will not make any changes in the design or size of its premium hatchback under the name ‘Racer’, but it will have some styling elements that will give it a more sporty look than the standard Altroz. Will compete with Hyundai i20 N-Line
In the performance hatchback segment in the Indian market, the Altroz Racer is going to compete directly with the Hyundai i20 N-Line. The Hyundai i20 N-Line gets a 1.0 liter turbo petrol engine. Its price starts at Rs 10 lakh. It is expected that to compete with it, Tata Motors can also launch the Altroz Racer around the same price.
Mieleg sporty look
To differentiate it from the standard model, the Altroz Racer will be offered with many new graphic elements. Its interior and upholstery will also be more premium than the standard model. To give it a sporty look, it will get sportier styling elements like blacked out wheels, dual exhaust tips and ‘racer’ graphics. It has two white strips from the hood to the end of the roof, due to which it looks quite sporty.
There will be no change in its cabin layout. However, it will have different black leatherette seat upholstery with ‘racer’ graphics. It will also have themed ambient lighting which will be different from its regular version.
These will be the new features
The Tata Altroz Racer will get additional features over the regular Altroz. These include a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a new 7-inch fully digital driver display, ventilated front seats and a heads up display. The ‘Racer’ version of the Altroz will also get a 360-degree camera and six airbags.
The engine will also be powerful
It will get a more powerful 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine from Tata Nexon. Tata Altroz Racer will be given a 6-speed manual transmission, while the regular Altroz is given a 5-speed manual transmission. Later, the option of automatic transmission can also be given in it. Apart from this, Altroz Racer is currently expected to be sold along with Altroz i-Turbo. The price of Tata Altroz Racer is expected to start from Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom).
