Mahindra XUV 3XO
The Indian carmaker’s sub-compact SUV Mahindra XUV 3XO, launched in 2024, is priced much lower than the Verna. While the XUV 3XO gets two turbo petrol engines, there is a more powerful one available from the AX5 trim level. Mahindra XUV starts at 3XO AX5 Rs 10.69 lakh, ex-showroom. The 1.2 liter engine is mated to either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox and produces 129 bhp and 230 Nm of peak torque.
Hyundai Venue N Line and i20 N Line
The Hyundai Venue N Line and i20 N Line are also one of the most affordable options when it comes to performance cars. Venue N Line starts from goes up to 12.08 lakhs 13.90 lakh, while the i20 N Line starts at 10 lakh more goes Rs 12.52 lakh, ex-showroom.

Tata Nexon is the third subcompact SUV in this list. It is powered by a turbocharged petrol engine on all trim levels. The engine is paired with multiple transmission options including 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, 6-speed AMT and 7-speed dual clutch automatic. Another one on the list is the Tata Altroz Racer. Tata Altroz Racer is the latest addition to the Altroz lineup. It uses the same 1.2-litre turbo petrol unit as the Nexon and produces 118 bhp and 172 Nm of peak torque.
