Celebrity fitness coach Siddharth Singh, who has trained stars like Tamannaah Bhatia, shares three workout mistakes that can hamper your hormonal balance.
In an Instagram video posted on Oct. 18, the fitness trainer explains why certain workout patterns — like excessive HIIT sessions or late-night training — can increase your stress hormones, and unbalance your hormones. He emphasizes that the way you approach your training can make a huge difference to both your hormonal balance and overall health.
daily fasting cardio
According to Siddharth, cardio sessions in the morning on an empty stomach can lead to hormonal imbalance over time. He explains, “This will increase cortisol first thing in the morning when your body is already in a fasted, stressed state. Over time this can lead to hormonal irregularities.”
intense HIIT session
Fitness trainers highlight that HIIT is good in moderate amounts, but excessive sessions can increase your stress hormones. He elaborates, “Hireox and CrossFit are good in moderation, but too much will spike cortisol and depress your progesterone. So keep HIIT in moderation.”
late night workout
According to Siddharth, working out late at night is not ideal for your hormonal health. He recommends ending your workout session at least three hours before bedtime because training for too long can increase your stress hormones, which ultimately interferes with your sleep quality, leading to less deep sleep.
