Tajinder Singh Bittu, a close aide of Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi, on Saturday resigned from the primary membership of the grand old party. Bittu also left the post of Himachal Pradesh in-charge secretary of All India Congress Committee (AICC).
Tajinder Pal Singh Bittu submitted his resignation to Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge. “I tender my resignation from the primary membership of the Indian National Congress and my post as Secretary-cum-in-charge of AICC, Himachal Pradesh with immediate effect,” he wrote in the letter.
In a Facebook post, Bittu shared his resignation letter and said, “With a heavy heart, after 35 years, I am resigning from the Congress Party.”
sources say told News 18 That Bittu is all set to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday.
