Things got a little scary for Sidney Sweeney during the filming of Immaculate. In a new interview with IndieWire, Immaculate director Michael Mohan revealed that while shooting the film’s bloody final scene, Sydney got fake blood in one eye, but continued shooting to get the perfect shot. When Sydney was injured on set
In the interview, the director recalled, “We wanted to do everything practically. The biggest challenge was on the last take. Sydney got blood in her eye, fake blood, and it was stinging her, but we succeeded in the take. We couldn’t get it done, and she was really in a lot of pain. But she’s my boss, and she was like, ‘Keep shooting, Mike. Keep shooting until you get it.’ We didn’t reset or anything. We kept the camera rolling, and I think it was the third take where we finally got the right take. […] But there was pain in his voice because there was fake blood in his eyes.

Michael Mohan further explained how the shoot was a difficult experience for the actor. “That was probably the hardest thing. But it was harder for him than it was for me,” he said.
Sidney is also the creator of Immaculate, he has been involved with the project for a long time. In her appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, she revealed that she auditioned for the role when she was 16, but the film was never made. Later, when the actor got into production, she approached the writer and assembled the team to make it. Sidney worked with director Michael Mohan in the erotic thriller The Voyagers.
Immaculate also stars Alvaro Morte, Benedetta Porcaroli, Dora Romano, Giorgio Colangeli and Simona Tabasco. The film received positive reviews after premiering at SXSW, and is set to be released in North America by Neon on March 22.
