The counsel for Kumar and others submitted that the plea has not become infructuous as two of the six petitioners will appear for the NEET-PG exam on June 23 this year.
The Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed a plea alleging anomalies in the NEET-PG examination held in 2022 for admission to postgraduate courses in various streams of medical sciences and seeking disclosure of the answer keys and answer sheets.
“These petitions have become infructuous due to lapse of time,” a vacation bench of Justices Vikram Nath and Ahsanuddin Amanullah said while dismissing the plea filed in 2022 by a candidate named Pritish Kumar and others.
The counsel for Kumar and others submitted that the plea has not become infructuous as two of the six petitioners will appear for the NEET-PG exam on June 23 this year.
The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-Postgraduate (NEET-PG) exam is conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) for admission to various PG courses after students complete MBBS, BDS and other equivalent courses.
“The problem is that they (NBE) are not allowing us to access the answer keys, answer sheets, question papers (of NEET-PG 2022),” the lawyer said.
The bench dismissed the plea, saying it could not keep it pending “unnecessarily”.
Pritish Kumar and others had filed the petition alleging that there were discrepancies in their NEET-PG 2022 marks and the NBE was not allowing re-evaluation.
