NASA astronaut Sunita Williams and Buch Wilmore returned to Earth on Tuesday after being in space for about nine months. A few hours after departing the International Space Station, SpaceX capsules carrying astronauts parachted in the Gulf of Mexico on Wednesday morning (IST).

Splashdown Florida Panhandal rose away from the coast of Talhasi. Williams, 59 and Wilmore, 62, were expected to stay on ISS for about a week, but were stranded there since June last year.

NASA astronauts who return from long ISS missions complete the 45-day rehabilitation program which includes three stages. After re -acquiring their strength, flexibility and their ability to walk during phase one, the astronauts run on phase two, which combines proprelyceptive exercise and cardio recognitioning.

Proprioceptive exercises strengthen the body and improve the perception of movement and state of mind. Phase three, the longest phase, focuses on returning the astronaut at the optimal level of physical performance to their optimal level through functional development training.

According to NASA, most astronauts returns to their again mission fitness level after 45 days. However, some may take months or years to recover.

As part of the post-mission recovery, Sunita will undergo some processes after Splashdown. some of them are:

Immediate medical attention: Sunita Williams and her fellow astronauts were excluded from the SpaceX Crew Dragon Capsule and placed on the stretcher for medical examinations immediately after their splashdown. For all astronauts when returning to Earth, this standard process is to combat prolonged risk effects for microgravity, which can lead to muscle atrophy, balance issues and fluid changes in the body.

Johnson Space Center, Houston: After medical check-up, astronauts will be flown at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston. According to media reports, astronauts will spend a few days before reuniating with their families and passing through health evaluation.

Post-Misishan debrifling: Sunita Williams and Wilmore will also participate in the post-mission debrifling, where they will share insight into their extended migration in the ISS, discuss the challenges faced by them, and the Boing Starlineer will provide reactions to the performance of the spacecraft.

Family Reunion: Sunita Williams had earlier expressed enthusiasm about returning home, especially to see her two dogs. “This has been a roller coaster for him, perhaps a little more for us,” he said earlier this month.

286 days in space

Sunita Williams and Buch Wilmore spent 286 days in space – when they were launched, it stayed for 278 days long. He revolved around the Earth 4,576 times and traveled 121 million miles (195 million km) by the time of Splashdown.

Capsule commander Nick Hague said, “What a ride.”

The plight of the two astronauts attracted the world attention, gave a new meaning to the phrase “stuck on work” and turned “Butch and Suna” into domestic names. While other astronauts had logged into the spacecraft for a long time in decades, no one had to deal with such uncertainty or see the length of their mission again and again.
