Accusing the BJP of spreading the web of paper leak mafia across the country, Congress on Monday alleged that there was brutal lathi charge on BPSC candidates in Patna to hide the paper leak and rigging.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge condemned the lathicharge on protesting students demanding cancellation of Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) examinations, calling it an attempt to break the morale of the students by using force.
“When rigging is revealed, the BJP shamelessly denies or tries to silence the youth by lathi-charging them,” Kharge claimed in a post in Hindi on X.
The Congress chief’s comments come a day after some students were lathicharged in Patna on protests against the cancellation of BPSC exams.
Sharing a video of the incident, the Congress chief claimed that the NDA government carried out brutal lathi charge and inhuman torture on BPSC aspirants in Bihar to hide the paper leak and rigging.
He said, “The attempt to break the morale of the youth by using dictatorship against them is extremely shameful and condemnable.”
Kharge also accused BJP of spreading the web of paper leak mafia across the country, which is ruining the future of the youth.
Kharge alleged that more than 70 papers have been leaked in the last seven years, and the future of 3.28 lakh youth who appeared for the BPSC exam hangs in balance.

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also alleged that the “double engine” BJP government in Bihar has become a symbol of “double oppression” on the youth.
“It is the government’s job to stop corruption, rigging and paper leaks in examinations. But instead of stopping corruption, students are being prevented from raising their voice,” the Congress general secretary said in a post in Hindi on X.
He said, “It is inhuman to use water cannon and lathi charge on the youth in this harsh winter. The double engine of BJP has become a symbol of double atrocities on the youth.”
Police on Sunday used water cannons to disperse students demanding cancellation of the BPSC exam held on December 13.
The agitating students, who had joined Jan Suraj founder Prashant Kishore at Patna’s Gandhi Maidan, attempted to march to the chief minister’s residence, prompting police action, officials said.
