Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is expected to release the notification for the Multi Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff and Havildar (CBIC & CBN) exam (called SSC MTS 2024) soon. As per the exam calendar of the commission, the SSC MTS notification was expected to come on May 7, but it has been delayed.
SSC MTS Tier 1 exam is tentatively scheduled for July-August.
As candidates are waiting for the SSC MTS notification, here is some important information based on the previous year exam.
SSC MTS Eligibility Criteria
Age Range: Candidates should be between 18-25 years of age or MTS and Havildar in CBN (Revenue Department). The age limit for Havildar in CIBC (Revenue Department and some posts of MTS) is 18-27 years. In both the cases, relaxation in upper age limit will be applicable to reserved category candidates.
Minimum Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed class 10 or matriculation examination or its equivalent from a recognized board on or before the cut-off date.
The cut-off dates for age limit, educational qualification and other eligibility conditions will be mentioned in the exam notification.

Last year SSC MTS application fee was 100. Women candidates eligible for reservation and candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwBD and Ex-servicemen (ESM) were exempted from payment of fee.
SSC MTS Selection Process
The selection process consists of Computer Based Examination (CBE) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/Physical Standard Test (PST). PET and PST are only for Havildar post.
The computer-based examination will be conducted in English, Hindi and 13 regional languages – Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.
There will be two sessions in CBE and it is mandatory to attempt both the sessions. Candidates will be disqualified if they fail to attempt any of the sessions.
SSC MTS Cut Off in CBE
After the Computer Based Test, candidates will be shortlisted for the Physical Test round based on their performance in Session 2 of the examination. However, the marks of Session 2 will be evaluated only if they qualify in Session 1.
The minimum qualifying marks in Session 1 and Session 2 are:
Unreserved: 30 percent
OBC, EWS: 25 percent
All other categories: 20 percent.
