First glimpse of the soul: As the clock struck midnight to welcome the New Year, the producer Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit gave fans a special surprise by unveiling the first look of the poster of the upcoming film, which features Prabhas and Tripti Dimri in intense, contrasting avatars.
First look of Spirit revealed
The timing of the release of the Spirit poster mirrors that of Wanga’s previous film Animal, which was also first announced at midnight on New Year’s Day. The makers posted the Spirit poster with the caption, “Let’s welcome the new year with the first poster on #Spirit.”
The poster of Spirit, released on New Year, gives the first look at the mood of the film. Poster Features Prabhas is seen with long hair and a thick, grown beard along with a moustache.
He is seen standing shirtless with his back to the camera, with bruises visible on his body and numerous bandages on his shoulders, arms and back, suggesting a character shaped by violence and conflict. He is wearing loose white trousers, has a cigarette between his lips and a glass of wine in one hand.
Standing close to him is Trupti, who is wearing a simple, light colored saree. She is seen lighting her cigarette with a calm and focused face, indicating a quiet but intense moment between the two characters. The setting appears to be an indoor space, with natural light streaming in through a window, with a faint city skyline visible in the background.
The makers’ tweet reads, “You love something that existed before. Now love something you never knew existed.”
Social media users were thrilled with the first look and flooded the comments section to share their excitement. One wrote, “The best gift for fans”, another shared, “The King is bleeding, but the swagger is untouched. This look is absolute carnage. If it’s just the poster, the teaser is going to melt the servers. #Spirit is going to be a monster.”
What do we know about the soul?
Apart from Prabhas, and Triptii Dimri, the film also stars Vivek Oberoi, Kanchana, and Prakash Raj. It is believed that Prabhas will play the role of a cop in the film while Trupti will play his love interest. There were also reports that Deepika Padukone was initially in the running for the role, but the role ultimately went to Tripti after Deepika reportedly backed out due to work hours conflicts with director Vanga.
It is written-edited-directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Prannoy Reddy Vanga, Krishna Kumar and Prabhakar Reddy Vanga. It is believed that the makers are planning to release the film in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Mandarin, Japanese and Korean languages.
Vanga had shared the audio teaser of the film in five Indian languages on Prabhas’s 46th birthday last year. It is scheduled to release in 2026.
