Hope Walz, the daughter of Tim Walz, Governor of Minnesota, has announced that she would not attend a graduate school, referring to her dissatisfaction with the way the university planned to participate in the student protests.
In a ticketing video shared on Sunday, Walz explained his decision to his followers, in which the student actively expressed disappointment with the institute’s stand.
“I had applied for a school. I had set my heart on it. I am not going to take the name of the institution, but in view of recent events I am not going to pay my money, going into debt, or supports institutions who do not support students and do not have the right to protest and speak for their communities,” Walz said in the video.
Support for student rights and protesters
Walz also emphasized that his decision was vested in his belief that students should be preserved while giving their opinion and participating in the protests. “Students are not worried about whether I am not worried about whether I want to be preserved or not.
Their declaration comes in the time of tension around student protests in American universities, especially in the light of the Trump administration functions, targets foreign students involved in Palestinian demonstrations.
Disputes around the stance of Trump administration

The administration threatened to withdraw federal funding from the university until it takes measures to deal with antisemiatiism and address the ongoing premises. In response, Colombia agreed to ban masks to hide identity during the protests and appointed a senior vice provost to the Middle East, South Asian and African studies to oversee its department of South Asian and African studies, as well as the center for Palestine.
Impact on foreign students
Amidst these tensions, State Secretary Marco Rubio revealed that at least 300 foreign students had canceled their visas in recent weeks to participate in protests.
