He told Star Sports that the ‘highest point’ for him is to be able to give a platform to the young cricket players of the country. ‘We have such good players’
Shahrukh argued that there was a time when only a select few people among the population of crores could become cricketers. He said that because of IPL many young cricketers get a chance to play for the country. “We have so many good, young players on our team. Sanju Samson, Mohammed Shami, Iqbal, Kuldeep, there are many cricketers who started with us,” he recalled.
But more than anything, the actor says, it’s the fact that he is able to give opportunities to young children that makes him happy. “For me, the highest point is to be able to give a young kid an opportunity. In the melee, they become what they are destined to become. I don’t even remember, but a lot of boys have played with us and become amazing players for our country. But it is personal, I will be happy if Rinku asks there.
In the promo of the interview, Shahrukh described the early years of owning KKR as ‘challenging’ as he was not a cricketer, described himself as ‘KKR’s 12th man’ and said that it took him time to make the players understand that they were there every time. The thing needs to be given time to breathe.
on taking a break
In the same interview, Shahrukh revealed that he will start shooting for his next film in July or August, with plans to start filming in June. He claimed that after starring in three films last year – Pathan, Jawan and Danki – he needed a break before resuming work.
