Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has won the hearts of his fans once again, this time at the 77th Locarno Film Festival. A video of the actor singing his famous song ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ at the festival went viral and was loved by fans and audiences across the world. The video shows the young actor interacting with a large number of enthusiastic crowd on stage. In a heartwarming moment, the audience started singing Kuch Kuch Hota Hai in unison, and Shah Rukh too joined in, much to the delight of everyone present. When the superstar added his voice to the chorus, the crowd cheered, making for a memorable experience.
On August 10, the young actor became the first Indian personality to be honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award, also known as Pardo alla Carriera or Career Leopard, at the 77th edition of the Locarno Film Festival.
King Khan stunned the audience with his evergreen charm. Several pictures from the festival surfaced online in which Shah Rukh is seen making the audience go crazy with his presence.
On this festival, Shahrukh looked very handsome in a black blazer and matching trousers. His long hair enhanced his look even more.
The highlight was his speech, which received continuous applause and other enthusiastic reactions. The Instagram handle of Locarno Film Festival is flooded with pictures and videos of Shah Rukh from the festival.
According to Variety, Shah Rukh started his welcome with a warm welcome. “Thank you to all of you who welcomed me with such big arms – bigger than the ones I show on screen,” he said, referring to his famous open-armed pose.
Shah Rukh then shared his thoughts on cinema. He said, “I truly believe that cinema has been the most profound and influential artistic medium of our times. I have been fortunate to be a part of it for many years and this journey has taught me some lessons.”
Reflecting on his 35-year career in the film industry, Shah Rukh spoke about the various roles he has played. “I have been the villain, I have been the champion, I have been the superhero, I have been the zero, I have been a rejected fan, and I have been a very flexible lover.”
As a tribute to Locarno, the festival also screened Khan’s 2002 hit film Devdas, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
