Union Home Minister Amit Shah shared a political line with a prediction that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will form a coalition government in Tamil Nadu after the 2026 state assembly elections.

In an interview published on Friday in Tamil Daily Dina ThathiShah said, “There will be NDA for the government in Tamil Nadu after the 2026 assembly elections, and the BJP will be a part of it.”

Amit Shah, while addressing the recent backlash on his stance on English, clarified in an interview that his comments were misunderstood. “I said the importance of regional languages ​​should increase,” he explained. “And we should try so that by 2047, speak in all Indian regional languages,” he said.

The claim of Shah’s victory appears to be, AIADMK spokesperson and former minister C. Vaigaichelvan reduced the possibility of a coalition government in Tamil Nadu and said, “So far, the people of Tamil Nadu have not accepted such a coalition government, and it does not look like that.”

Vaigaichelvan said that his general goal was to defeat the ruling Dravidan Munnetra Kazgam (DMK), Hindustan Times Informed

However, his comment about Tamil Nadu’s 2026 elections and political opinion gave strong reactions from the ruling party.

DMK spokesman TKS Alangovan said, “They won’t win. Even AIADMK will not vote for the BJP. They have insulted Anna and Periyar. Now the number of MLAs they have will be reduced further.”

On 22 June, Lord Muruga Bhakta Sammelan of Hindu Munnani was held in Madurai, which was attended by BJP and AIADMK leaders, and a video clip game, allegedly criticized for Dravidian Icon Periyar Ev Ramasamy, DMK founder CN Annadurai and Late DMK Sedrach.

Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin made a spectacular attack on his alliance with BJP and AIADMK, accusing him of trying to divide the people of the state on the basis of religion and caste.

Speaking in Tirupathur district on Friday, Stalin said, “They are trying to divide the people of Tamil Nadu in the name of religion, caste, etc. at the center on Friday, and they are constantly doing so. When they couldn’t do so, they joined here with AIADMK.”

Stalin further called the BJP “fake spirituality and political drama”, alleging that the claims of the danger of religion in Tamil Nadu were politically motivated.

AIADMK and BJP formally joined on Friday after almost two years of partition, in which Amit Shah announced that 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections of AIADMK chief Edappi. Will be fought under the leadership of Palaniswami.

So far, the people of Tamil Nadu have not accepted such coalition government, and it does not look like that.

The two parties had earlier contested together in the 2019 Lok Sabha and 2021 assembly elections, but participated in September 2023 after political disagreement.
